How to Track a Case
- Go to placer.courts.ca.gov and click "Case Search"
- Search by case number, party name, or attorney
- Review the docket for all filed documents and scheduled hearings
- Note hearing dates and check back for updated filings
How to Observe Court
- Check the public court calendar for open hearings
- Arrive early — seating is first-come, first-served
- No recording devices without prior court permission
- Take written notes freely — this is your right as a member of the public
How to Request Records
- Most filed court documents are public record under California law
- Request in person at the clerk's office: 10820 Justice Center Drive, Roseville
- Submit written requests for documents not available online
- California Public Records Act requests go to the court executive officer
How to File a Judicial Conduct Complaint
- Go to cjp.ca.gov — the California Commission on Judicial Performance
- Download and complete Form CJP-7 (Complaint Form)
- Attach copies of relevant court documents as exhibits
- Mail or email to the Commission — all complaints are confidential by statute
